[ Infinitwirl ]
Originating in Milan, Italy, Eliana began her artist-based practice in a Milan-based studio. Completing Diplomas in both Fashion Design and Illustration, Eliana engaged in an Apprenticeship with renowned Italian Watercolour Painter Claudio Jaccarino, Laboratorio di Cromografia, who she has since exhibited with internationally on multiple occasions.
Following her ;me in Italy, Eliana moved internationally, continuing her practice in Dublin and is now professionally settled in Sligo, Ireland where she continues her personal research work. Eliana’s dance-based practice, Infinitwirl, can be described as a multicultural fusion. Utilising the experiences she was having orienting herself within a new country and culture, she has chosen folk dances from her own background as means of cultural and historical heritage of the world. Through this, Eliana interrogates the role movement plays in our collective experience of world-citizens; hoping to reawaken in our modern society the ancient human instinct to express oneself through the movement of the body, enabling individual self-expression in order to share with our community those deep values that seem destined to disappear.
Infinitwirl dance project promotes Mediterranean music and folk heritage to create a cultural and multicultural exchange between National and International traditions, dances from the South of Italy (Tarantella tradition), Europe (Balfolk) and the rest of the World (Bellydance).
Infinitwirl Dance project would like to open a wider view on how dances from different geographical areas are connected by a golden thread embracing all humanity that shares life on this beautiful Planet Earth. Encouraging the practice of dance a person can reach high levels of solo dance, dance in couple, and dance in group with great benefit, improving grounding and energy flowing, self-confidence and self-expression, healthy boundaries, caring, respect and sense of community.

We are hoping to give a greater awareness of these dances which today are part of a living tradition in the South of Italy and can be experienced at first hand in festivals and celebrations by any interested traveller.
